MBA: Advanced Standing Pathway

For professionals with a prior UConn graduate degree.*

UConn’s MBA: Advanced Standing Pathway is an opportunity for professionals with a prior UConn graduate degree* to elevate their careers by obtaining an MBA in a shortened amount of time. This innovative format reduces the number of credits required to obtain our standard MBA, allowing subject-matter experts to efficiently gain the business management and financial acumen essential for success in today’s dynamic business landscape. This pathway empowers students to complement their expertise with a strong business foundation that can be completed in less than 2 years. Students pursuing an MBA through the Advanced Standing Pathway option will complete all core MBA courses and will choose two elective courses. Students will be awarded a UConn MBA upon completion of their requirements.

*Eligible UConn graduate degrees include - JD, MD, Pharm.D., Ph.D. (Biomedical Science), or a Master’s in fields like Engineering, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work, Financial and Enterprise Risk Management, Human Resource Management, or Business Analytics & Project Management.

Advanced Standing Pathway (MBA: ASP) at a Glance
  • 33 Credits Required (27 from Core Courses; 6 from Electives)
  • Cost: $1150/Credit
  • Start Terms: Fall, Spring, and Summer
  • Students pursuing the MBA: ASP can apply to either the Flex MBA or Online MBA Programs
  • Study at your own pace: Full-Time or Part-Time
  • Courses available in-person and/or online for U.S. students
  • International students are eligible to study in-person (Flex) if taking enough credits to qualify for visa status.
  • In-Person locations: Hartford or Stamford

  • No concentrations (the MBA: ASP is designed to complement your existing advanced degree/specialty)
  • Scholarships available for students with one semester completed and good academic standing
