A new cohort of students is admitted each Fall semester, and classes meet every other Saturday and two Fridays per semester. UConn's Executive MBA students are accomplished professionals and high-performing managers dedicated to becoming impactful leaders. With an average of 10 years of professional experience across diverse fields such as engineering, technology, education, healthcare, and insurance, students bring a wealth of knowledge to the program.

The EMBA Cohort

Our EMBA cohort is limited to 30 students and begins each Fall semester. Through rigorous coursework and collaborative learning, our Executive MBA students develop a versatile skill set and advanced business acumen, enriching classroom discussions with their curiosity, expertise, and determination. Our alumni and students value the diverse perspectives offered by our multidisciplinary teams, which enhance their ability to identify and execute effective business solutions.

EMBA Curriculum

The UConn EMBA broad-based management curriculum is designed to equip experienced managers and professionals with the advanced skills and knowledge to excel in leadership roles. EMBA courses in key business domains are tailored to drive creative and strategic thinking and practical insights essential to today's dynamic business environment. Our students and alumni put their learning to work to address challenges in their jobs.

Classes meet in-person from 8:00 am to 6:15 pm every other Saturday plus two Fridays per semester at our Hartford Graduate Business Learning Center.

Global Immersion Experience

The UConn EMBA cohort participates in an international trip, scheduled in June between the first and second year of classes. The course is designed to provide a holistic, culturally enhanced business experience, visiting a variety of global and national firms and local businesses and entrepreneurs. Students learn about international business practices, business strategies, and how culture impacts business.

EMBA Fits Your Busy Life

Built with busy professionals in mind, the EMBA schedule is predictable and manageable. In-person classes are scheduled every other Saturday plus two Fridays per semester at UConn's Graduate Business Learning Center in Hartford. In June between the first and second year of the program the EMBA cohort travels to another country to fortify their global business perspective.

Graduate Certificate Specialization

UConn EMBA students in their final semester of coursework and alumni are invited to take courses toward a Graduate Certificate at no additional cost. Certificates are offered in the areas of accounting, finance, operations and information systems, marketing, and management.

Executive MBA All-Inclusive Fees

UConn's EMBA all-inclusive program fee of $95,000 includes:

  • University and course fees
  • Course materials (books, cases, a laptop computer and course relevant software)
  • In-Residence program (accommodation and meals)
  • Global Immersion (transportation, accommodation, meals, and insurance
  • Class day (breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks; parking fees)
  • High-touch administrative support (registration, billing)
  • Optional completion of a Graduate Certificate

The $1,800 non-refundable deposit, required upon acceptance of the program, holds your seat and is applied to your first tuition payment.

Access your online application account

First-time users will create a new online account when they enter our application system via the "Apply Now" button. Returning users can use their designated email and password to log in.

Write your essay

We require a personal essay for the EMBA program. The prompt is located in the application itself. Don’t forget, you have access to log in and out of your application as many times as you need to in order to complete your application!

Contact your references

Request two letters of recommendation. It is important to reach out to your references as early as possible to give them enough time to complete your recommendations. In the system, you will be prompted to enter your references’ information. Once added, our system will contact your references directly via email, and provide a secure link for them to quickly and easily submit their letters. At no point should you be handling and submitting your letters of recommendation.

For application review purposes, we only require an unofficial copy of your transcript. If admitted, we will then need your official transcript sent directly from your institution.

Class Schedule

EMBA classes are held every other Saturday and one Friday every six weeks. A typical day is as follows
